Plant Protoplast Fusion by Electroporation
Electroporation Protocol:
Plant Protoplast Fusion may be performed by Electroporation. Per this new technique, genes are delivered into a seed by electroporation. (This new electroporation method has been developed and patented by Dr. Hagio of the Japanese Institute of Agrobiological Resources). Seeds are placed into the electroporation chamber which is filled with DNA buffer. The chamber is placed in the desiccator vacuum and is then decompressed. As a result, DNA buffer is penetrated into a seed. Square pulses are applied to the seeds containing DNA inside. Kindly note the PDF titled: ‘Plant Protoplast Fusion by Electroporation‘.
The stated methodologies require the use of the CUY21 EDIT electroporator and various electrodes.
